Everything You Need to Know About Attending an SNC:AGO Recital Series Concert

 
 
 

VENUE: Concerts take place in the Dr. Rando-Grillot Recital Hall inside the Lee & Thomas Beam Music Center on the UNLV campus (see map). The 300-seat concert hall is ADA compliant and volunteer ushers will be present to assist audience members if needed.

COVID-19: Members of the public, regardless of vaccine status, are required to wear a face covering while inside any building or structure on any UNLV campus or property. Face coverings must cover both the mouth and nose.

RECOMMENDED PARKING: Cottage Grove Parking Garage or Lot B

There is handicapped parking just steps from the performance hall.

FREE CONCERT: Each concert is free and open to the public. No advance tickets are required. Seating is general admission.

PROGRAMMING: Each concert is typically 60-75 minutes long without an intermission.

AUDIENCE SURVEY: Included with your program will be a brief survey. Please complete and return the survey. We use the results to make future programming decisions and to apply for state and federal funding.

THE ORGAN: These recitals are performed on the Maurine Jackson Smith Memorial Organ. The instrument was built in 2004 by Rudolf von Beckerath Orgeblau of Hamburg, Germany, and features 38 stops, 58 ranks, 3 manuals and about 3,000 pipes.

LOOK & LEARN: Following each performance, a member of the chapter will offer a brief onstage presentation about pipe organs and this instrument. Audience members are invited to join to learn, engage and ask questions.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND: As you enter or exit the recital hall, you will notice a collection for the Raymond Barnes Memorial Scholarship fund. Your voluntary contributions help to support young musicians interested in studying organ.
